Actuarial Calculations Test Engine

The client is a leading provider of pensions in the UK and Irish markets. In order to test the live pension pricing system and it's subsequent upgrades, a flexible test harness was required.

The test harness had a dual purpose. It was developed as a duplicate calculations engine, calculating a set of policy values and comparing them to the answers on the live system. The added bonus was that it could be used by the actuarial department for testing new mortality rates or product types.
